China Education Resources Inc.: New Online Teacher Training Begins
16 February 2007
China Education Resources Inc. ("CER", the Company) (TSX VENTURE: CHN)(PINK SHEETS: CHNUF) was recently selected by the Ministry of Education as a recommended education resource throughout China. CER launched its next online teacher training program in China. Organized by the Ministry of Education's Curriculum Development Center (CDC), and utilizing CER's internet education portal www.cersp.com, the training program is being delivered to 16,000 primary and junior high school teachers in China. Mr. Chengfeng Zhou, Chairman of CER stated, "This next level of teacher training is the implementation and testing of our technology and infrastructure changes employing the information we learned from our first teacher training program. These teaching programs are utilizing our new technology whereby we are delivering 11 core subjects simultaneously with substantially more video content and are confident we can now handle many more participants and courses." "Revenue during this development phase is approximately $300,000 CDN, an increase of approximately $100,000 CDN over our last beta test. From our point of view a significant milestone is that this revenue is generated from many sources: varying levels of governments, schools and individual teachers themselves. Additionally, we were very pleased that the World Bank approached us and has subsequently sponsored several hundred participating teachers as a trial to see if CERSP's online teacher training methods will suit their education funding programs," commented Zhou. Mr. Zhou continued, "Feedback from participating teachers during the first days of this new program have been overwhelmingly positive. I have personally read over 1700 comments and could not be more proud of what the company and its collaborators: the Curriculum Development Center, over 100 national education experts, and Apple Inc., have achieved in a relatively short period." The Company remains committed to working with the CDC to revolutionize teacher training in China by bringing innovative and state-of-the-art programs and resources, and is currently working with the CDC and national experts to introduce 14 new high school level training programs to begin in the summer 2007.
