AT&T Joins Wal-Mart to Offer Consumers Convenient One-Stop Shopping for High-Tech Broadband

3 December 2006

Holiday shoppers can now put broadband in their carts. AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) announced today that the award-winning AT&T Yahoo!(R) High Speed Internet service will be available at 570 Wal-Mart stores in 13 states in November 2006. The deal offers consumers another convenient way to learn about, shop for and eventually purchase AT&T Yahoo! High Speed Internet services. With more than 150 million customers shopping in its stores each week, Wal-Mart provides AT&T with the opportunity to reach more consumers.

"By offering information about AT&T Yahoo! High Speed Internet services in a number of Wal-Mart Connection Center locations, millions of consumers will have the opportunity to conveniently learn about AT&T broadband services while shopping for their everyday necessities. This will open up a whole new world of online experiences for AT&T and Wal-Mart customers, from easily sharing photos and stories with distant family and friends to streaming music and video from their favorite performers in the comfort of their living room," said Rick Welday, chief marketing officer, AT&T Consumer. "We offer the fastest Internet speeds in the market for the price, which fits perfectly with the Wal-Mart everyday-low-price model."

Just in time for the holiday season, customers can pick up brochures that direct them to a special Web site to order AT&T broadband service. Wal-Mart customers will get the same great rates for residential AT&T Yahoo! High Speed Internet service, starting at $14.99 a month, with no term commitment requirement. Subject to availability, consumers will be eligible to receive reward cards of $25 for orders of Express service and $75 for orders of Pro and Elite service.

Beginning in February 2007, Wal-Mart Connection Center associates will be available to help customers determine service availability and place orders for AT&T Yahoo! High Speed Internet. Associates in the Wal-Mart Connection Centers will work to improve the shopping experience by enabling customers to order the service on the spot and educating customers on the benefits of AT&T Yahoo! High Speed Internet. AT&T will ship the easy-to-use self-installation service kit directly to customers' homes once orders are scheduled.

Wal-Mart Connection Centers will offer shoppers the full portfolio of AT&T Yahoo! High Speed Internet speeds, including AT&T Yahoo! High Speed Internet Express (up to 1.5 Mbps), AT&T Yahoo! High Speed Internet Pro (up to 3.0 Mbps) and AT&T Yahoo! High Speed Internet Elite (up to 6.0 Mbps). The service will be sold through Wal-Mart Connection Centers in California, Nevada, Texas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin and Connecticut.

With 8.2 million high speed Internet lines -- which includes DSL, AT&T U-verse(SM) services and satellite services -- AT&T is the largest broadband provider among U.S. telecommunications providers. AT&T Yahoo! High Speed Internet service offers consumers unmatched levels of personalization, customization and interactivity. Subscribers receive a leading combination of broadband access, powerful safety and security tools, and service and content that delivers a unique high speed Internet experience.
