Verizon Wireless Customers to Get Full Election Results Coverage Through AP Mobile Elections

7 November 2006

Who will control the U.S. House of Representatives for the 110th Congress? In Virginia, will it be Allen or Webb? Sodrel or Hill in Indiana? Kilroy or Pryce in Ohio? This week, Verizon Wireless customers on the go don't have to be glued to their television sets to get full coverage of this year's election results. Beginning today, Verizon Wireless customers with Mobile Web 2.0(SM)-capable phones can check out AP Mobile Elections on their handsets to access full coverage of the 2006 primary and general election results collected by The Associated Press (AP).

AP Mobile Elections gives Verizon Wireless customers access to coverage for over 500 races and the results are updated every five minutes as new information becomes available. Plus, the application comes with a number of features to keep track of the results including:

* My Races: Customers can bookmark specific races so they can easily track

results on election night

* Top Races: Customers can view results of the top races in the news

* Top Political Stories: Customers can access AP's Political Alert wire,

covering the top political stories from around the country

Beginning today, AP Mobile Elections will be available on the home page of Mobile Web. Customers can also access AP Mobile Elections from a Mobile Web 2.0-capable phone by entering http://mer.ap.org in the Mobile Web browser on their phone. Airtime charges apply when browsing, downloading and using certain applications on Verizon Wireless handsets. Customers need Verizon Wireless digital service to access Mobile Web 2.0.
