Vodafone Italia, Fastweb Launch Broadband Cooperation and Lucent to Buy Software Company Mobilitec

(NYSE:LU) said Tuesday it agreed to buy Mobilitec, a provider of content management software, for an undisclosed cash amount. Lucent, which itself has agreed to be acquired by French telecom equipment company Alcatel, said the deal strengthens its platforms supporting video, voice, data and multimedia applications, allowing more services for mobile and broadband users.
