30 August 2006
AdStar, Inc. (Nasdaq: ADST), the leading provider of e-commerce transaction software and services for the advertising and publishing industries, today announced that The Columbus Dispatch (Columbus, Ohio) has selected AdStar's Web-based Ad Sales technology to power the newspaper's online classified ads transaction services. Advertisers will be able to use AdStar's technology to create, schedule and pay for one or more print and/or online classified ads through the Dispatch's Web site at http://www.dispatch.com. The Dispatch is one of the nation's 50 largest newspapers and the second largest newspaper in Ohio, with an average weekly circulation of more than 230,000 and a Sunday circulation of nearly 350,000. AdStar's Web-based ad-transaction technology extends the classified advertising possibilities and revenue potential for the Dispatch by allowing advertisers to simultaneously submit ads for publication in the print and/or online versions of the newspaper. AdStar's service will allow the Dispatch to offer their advertisers a number of ad enhancements and a variety of pricing packages for print-only, online-only or a combination of print and online products. "We are pleased to add the Dispatch to our growing list of media partners as we continue to expand our reach throughout the United States," stated Leslie Bernhard, president and chief executive officer of AdStar, Inc. "Despite the growing competition for advertising dollars, newspapers are still the most powerful tool to reach local consumers and businesses. With many advertisers targeting print, television and online opportunities, newspapers that offer both are at a unique advantage in the marketplace. Dispatch advertisers will now be able to take advantage of the convenience and speed of managing their newspaper ads through the Web whenever and from wherever they are." AdStar captures advertising information in such a way that the Dispatch will be able to repurpose the ad information for a variety of publishing channels and opportunities. Advertisers will also be able to recall, change and schedule previously published ads for renewal. AdStar's technology is delivered as an outsourced service with pricing based on a fixed monthly hosting fee and a fixed fee for each ad transaction. About AdStar, Inc. AdStar, Inc.
