Asurion To Manage NTT DoCoMo's Mobile Phone Protection and Delivery Service

Asurion, the leading provider of mobile protection services for the wireless telecommunications industry, announced today it has entered into an agreement with NTT DoCoMo, Inc. (NTT DoCoMo), in collaboration with Itochu Corporation, to manage NTT DoCoMo's new Mobile Phone Protection and Delivery Service.


Mobile Phone Protection and Delivery Service for NTT DoCoMo Premier Club and Business Premier Club members is the Japanese industry's first paid mobile handset protection and delivery service that protects users from handset problems such as loss, theft and water damage by offering a replacement phone. The subscriber can receive a replacement phone at his/her designated location conveniently and quickly, just one or two days after making a claim. This service will start on 1st July, and subscribers can sign up for the service through the i-mode DoCoMo eSite or DoCoMo Information Center.


With enhanced features such as credit card or e-wallet function, mobile phones have become indispensable in the daily lives of consumers, hence increasing the inconvenience of handset loss, theft or damage. The new Mobile Phone Protection and Delivery Service is aimed at delivering peace of mind to DoCoMo subscribers and increasing customer satisfaction in view of the impending mobile number portability introduction in October.
