IDG's Computerworld Names Antares Management Solutions to Annual List of Best Places to Work in Information Technology
22 June 2006
Antares Management Solutions announced today that IDG's Computerworld, the "Voice of IT Management," has selected it as one of the top workplaces for information technology (IT) professionals. This honor is part of the weekly IT publication's 13th annual Best Places to Work in IT survey, which was published in the June 19th issue of Computerworld and online at Computerworld.com. "I find this award very exciting and meaningful to Antares, since the input for this award came from our employees," said Ken Sidon, president of Antares Management Solutions. "It is the highest compliment a company can receive." Since 1994, Computerworld's annual "Best Places to Work in IT" feature has ranked the top 100 work environments for technology professionals, based on a comprehensive questionnaire regarding company offerings in categories such as benefits, diversity, career development, training and retention. In addition, this year Computerworld surveyed more than 20,000 IT workers for the list, and their responses factored heavily in determining the rankings. Antares, which achieved an overall ranking of 71, was cited for its rich employee benefits package that includes prescription drug coverage, flexible spending accounts and retirement plans. Other perks include employee assistance programs, on-site fitness centers or discounts on memberships to local health clubs, Weight Watchers programs, free health screenings and brown-bag lunch sessions that address topics such as stress management. The company was also recognized for a new and more flexible telecommuting option that allows IT workers to perform their daily tasks from home via an Internet connection and a VPN. Antares also offers tuition assistance, certification reimbursement, on-site training, a computer boot camp, a project management program and computer-based training on subjects such as desktop applications and programming languages. "This year's Best Places to Work rankings represent companies across the industry that recognize how a strong commitment to and investment in employees is synonymous with creating a great IT work environment," said Don Tennant, editor in chief of Computerworld. "Once again, we found that IT professionals are looking for rewarding and challenging projects, access to leading-edge technologies, career growth and development and a comfortable work/life balance. Our Best Places companies not only offer these benefits, but do so in a manner that goes well above industry norms."
