Private Media Group Expands Wireless Distribution in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa With Nomad NetworX
9 June 2006
Private Media Group, a worldwide leader in premium-quality adult entertainment products, services, and new media content, signed an agreement granting Sydney-based Nomad NetworX the right to develop and distribute Private's adult entertainment content initially throughout the territories of Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, giving Private access to the regions' 50 million mobile subscribers. Private mobile content is currently offered in 22 countries by 49 mobile network operators. Under the terms of the agreement within the Pacific Asian territory, Nomad NetworX will take on responsibility for development and distribution of Private's comprehensive portfolio of multimedia-rich products including streaming mobile TV channels, video clips, games, wallpapers and MMS content. To manage and optimise the distribution of Private content locally Nomad will utilise its carrier-grade, feature-rich content management and hosting platform to control content ingestion, metadata creation, and content moderation and will also employ their critically important handset/device identification system. "Nomad NetworX is a well known local player in the arena of mobile content aggregators in the Asia Pacific region," boasts Tim Clausen, Director of Wireless for Private Media Group. "Private has been building a vast library of glamour and soft erotica content in order to service markets like Australia, whose legislation and laws prohibit the harder content. Our expanding softcore library dramatically increases our content offering and facilitates our entry into any and every market." According to David Kane, Research Analyst for Wireless World Forum, "The Asia Pacific market is a real hot-spot for the wireless industry right now. Rising data revenue will account for 61% of top line growth by 2007 in Australia. Similarly, our data for the South African mobile market shows that there will be close to 30 million South African mobile phone owners by 2007, more than in the Canadian and Australian markets combined and close behind the mobile market in Spain. "South Africa has a large youth population and their use of data services will account for a growing percentage of blended ARPU (average revenue per user)," Kane continues. "Overall revenue in that region will rise, aided by new subscribers and the increase in data ARPU, with messaging and content services." "We are thrilled to work with a world class brand like Private and bring some of the most recognised and high-quality adult content into this territory -- arguably one of the world's most explosive mobile content markets today," states Dan Rosen, CEO of Nomad NetworX. "It is our goal to make Private one of the leading providers of mobile adult content in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa."
