"The transceiver market continued to show growth in 2005 butthe growth rate had already hit a peak in 2004," says founder andPresident, Earl Lum. "Ericsson maintained its top position but its growth rate significantlylagged the overall market in 2005 and the company was second in UMTS TRxshipments to Nokia," says Lum.
While the market continues to see growth through 2006, the report citesthat the BTS TRx market may begin to experience some softness beginning in2007. "Similar to the BTS market, the TRx market has been driven largely byGSM technology. We believe that GSM will begin to show softness in demandby 2007 and this will lead to a decline in overall TRx shipments," saysLum.
