Bentley Announces Winners of 2006 BE Awards of Excellence

26 May 2006

At this gathering of more than 2,000 attendees, Bentley Systems, Incorporated today announced the winners of the 2006 BE Awards of Excellence, which honor the extraordinary work of Bentley users improving the world's infrastructure.

Twenty-nine projects in the professional portion of the program received BE Awards during the BE Conference in Charlotte. These projects set benchmarks for their industries, and showcase the imagination and technical mastery of the organizations that created them. In addition, for the first time, a BE Award was presented for Lifetime Achievement. In the academic portion of the program, BE Awards went to the Educator of the Year and to the top three student designs.

The winners were announced last night during a dinner and ceremony hosted by Peter Sagal of the National Public Radio program "Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me!," and co-sponsored by McGraw-Hill Construction, publisher of Engineering News-Record. The independent panel of BE Awards jurors, which included accomplished Bentley users and distinguished industry experts, selected the winning projects from more than 260 nominations.

"Speaking on behalf of our company and the professions that we serve, we offer heartfelt congratulations to these winners," said CEO Greg Bentley. "They've shown that they stand above all others in their vision and application of technology in improving the world's infrastructure."

"Once again, we had a record number of nominations," continued Mr. Bentley. "My congratulations extend to all of them, each of which is deserving of acknowledgement."
