Verizon Wireless Activates New Cell Site in Wolfsburg, Pa.

Verizon Wireless has activated a new cell site in Wolfsburg in Bedford County, enabling more area customers to use their wireless phones concurrently to make calls, send and receive text and picture messages, and download games and ringtones while enjoying clearer reception and fewer dropped calls.
This new cell site improves coverage along U.S. Route 220 and Interstate 99 throughout Bedford County and at the Bedford Interchange of the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
"During 2005, call volume on our network in Pennsylvania increased by more than 40 percent," said Roger Tang, president-Ohio/Pennsylvania Region, Verizon Wireless. "This new cell site reflects our ongoing commitment to meet the growing needs of our customers and to provide them with the reliable, high quality service they expect from Verizon Wireless."
Verizon Wireless has invested $30 billion in the last six years - $5 billion on average every year since the company was formed - to increase the coverage and capacity of its national network and to add new services. In 2005, Verizon Wireless invested $240 million in Pennsylvania.
