XO Communications today announced that it carried more than 2.9 billion minutes of voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) traffic across its nationwide IP network in the first quarter of 2006, a 32 percent increase over the previous quarter. The increase was driven by greater deployment of XO's VoIP solutions by businesses and service providers, demonstrating the increasing growth of delivering voice services over an all IP environment.
