Vocalocity Adopts Paraxip's Gateway Software to Provide Standards-Based Telephony Connectivity to its Voice Browser

Paraxip Technologies, a supplier of media gateway solutions optimized for the speech, IVR and contact center markets, announced today that Vocalocity, a leading supplier of OEM software for standards-based telephony solutions, has selected the highly innovative Paraxip Gateway software to offer standard SIP-based connectivity to legacy telephony networks. The Paraxip Gateway is an open, software-based VoIP gateway product that provides a comprehensive and highly flexible bridge between the traditional telephony network and IP-based platforms and applications. Vocalocity customers worldwide will thus be able to use the Paraxip Gateway software to connect the standards-based Vocalocity voice browser to a wide variety of switches, PBXs and ACDs.

Paraxip's gateway software is compatible with a wide variety of off-the-shelf computer telephony boards, making the solution suitable for «in-field» software-only upgrades to VoIP, and for building cost effective gateway sub-systems inside hybrid communication platforms. Vocalocity's OEM customers and their channel partners will use the Paraxip Gateway software both for upgrading the installed base to standard SIP call control as well as for releasing new systems and applications based on SIP.
