Vyyo Announces 'Certified Compatible' Program; Cannon, Hunt, Powel, RuggedCom Products Selected for Inclusion

Vyyo Inc. (Nasdaq: VYYO), a global supplier of broadband access equipment for cable and private wireless broadband network solutions, today announced the creation of a new program designed to ensure successful implementation of multi-vendor wireless solutions that include Vyyo products.
The "Vyyo Certified Compatible" program has been designed to offer additional assurance to utility customers that specific products have been tested, or field-proven, and certified as interoperable with Vyyo wireless utility solution products. The Vyyo solution combines 700 MHz licensed spectrum with the company's V3000 broadband wireless hub and compatible modems to provide greater efficiency by replacing legacy dial-up monitoring with cost-effective, high-speed wireless data services.
Cannon Technologies, Inc.'s YUKON(TM) Software and Substation Advisor(R) gateway products; Hunt Technologies' TS1 AMR automatic meter reading system; Powel-MiniMax, Inc.'s ScadaCam remote security and monitoring solution and RuggedCom Inc.'s RuggedSwitch RS400 serial device server are the first to be included in the program. Additional products and solutions will be announced in the near future.
"Vyyo Certified Compatible" status assures that utilities using Cannon load management and automated distribution products can seamlessly incorporate Automated Meter Reading (AMR), Demand Management, Electric Substation Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Distribution Automation, and Equipment Monitoring functionalities in conjunction with the high-speed, real- time connectivity of the Vyyo broadband wireless solution.
