Lockheed Martin Information Technology Unit Earns Top Rating and U.S. BioDefense Updates on Recent Response to Request for Manufacturing of TAMIFLU(R)

Defense industry news provided by Financial News USA (OTC: FNWU) Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) announced recently that its Information Technology unit's Application Development and Maintenance organization has achieved the Software Engineering Institute's (SEI(SM)) Capability Maturity Model® Integration (CMMI) Maturity Level 5 rating for process excellence in producing and supporting software applications deployed at dozens of civil government and defense agencies. CMMI Maturity Level 5, the top rating possible, is awarded to few organizations worldwide. The Russian airline Aeroflot is close to buying more than 20 Boeing 787 airplanes worth more than $2.5 billion, according to two Russian newspapers and the Reuters press agency. The reports indicate that Aeroflot officials chose the new Boeing plane, which will be assembled in Everett, over rival Airbus' A350 airplane. Boeing (NYSE: BA) now has more than 350 orders and commitments for the 787, which will be delivered starting in 2008. The list price of the 787 is $125 million to $135 million each, according to Boeing's Web site. U.S. BioDefense, Inc (OTC Bulletin Board: UBDE) would like to update its shareholders on their November 29th, request to Roche in response to the need for greater TAMIFLU® production. Due to the increased demand for TAMIFLU® and increased concerns over potential influenza pandemic, Roche (the makers of TAMIFLU®) has decided to look for parties interested in toll manufacturing of dosage forms or oseltamivir API (active pharmaceutical ingredient) for Roche's antiviral drug TAMIFLU®. The interested parties will help fulfill the demands from the United States and other countries world-wide. Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) has been awarded a $7.1 million U.S. Navy contract to provide NATO SEASPARROW depot support. The contract calls for Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) to provide Performance Based Logistics (PBL), repairs, manufacturing, test and delivery of NATO SEASPARROW replacement parts for the Naval Inventory Control Point (NAVICP) in Mechanicsburg, Pa. This is a sole source order issued under year 3 of the NATO SEASPARROW PBL contract. There are two option years remaining on the contract. Years four and five are valued at approximately $7.7 million and $8.3 million, respectively.
