CellularLD.com Now Providing 5¢ Per Minute International Long Distance from U.S. Cell Phones to Major International Cities Worldwide

CellularLD, an international long distance calling service that works with any wireless carrier or plan, on any cell phone, announced today that U.S. cell phone users can now place overseas calls to most major international cities for as low as 5 cents per minute. This innovative wireless international calling service enables cellular customers to continue using their existing wireless carrier for domestic calls and, from the same phone, CellularLD for international calls. The value to consumer and business cellular users is compelling. For example, CellularLD charges $0.05 per minute for a call to London versus as much as $1.50 per minute with major carriers such as Cingular, Verizon and Sprint Nextel.

According to The Yankee Group, the number of wireless subscribers in the United States has grown from 68.7 million in 1998 to 181.6 million in 2004, achieving a 63% penetration of the U.S. population. International long distance has great potential for becoming a key feature to an important segment of wireless users. FCC data suggests that 10% of wireless users, approximately 18 million subscribers, would place international calls from their cell phones if they were presented with a cost-effective and convenient solution for mobile-originated overseas calling.

Wireless users can sign up online. Customers simply complete the online enrollment form, provide their personal information, register up to three phone numbers from which they want to use the service and supply a valid credit/debit card to which CellularLD bills usage. Once customers complete the online enrollment process, they activate the account via a welcome email containing all important account information. Service availability is immediate.
To place an international call, customers simply dial a local or toll-free access number which can be programmed into the user’s cell phone address book, and at the prompt, enter the destination number. Using a unique caller ID process, CellularLD recognizes the user’s registered phone number, authenticates the call and connects the user to the destination number immediately. Customers log on to “My Account” to access real-time calling and billing history, check rates, recharge their account and access advanced features. Live customer service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
