SVS Imaging Launches “Go Anywhere, Do Anything” IP Network Security System Solutions for LAN-based Facilities

11 December 2005

SVS Imaging today announced availability of the “Go Anywhere, Do Anything” IP Network Security System Solution. The integrated system is ideal for LAN-based facilities because it requires simple plug-and-play installation vs. new Ethernet infrastructure. Each component of the system is IP addressable. Thus, managers can literally monitor any camera or recorder in the system from their portable devices (laptop, PDA, or cellphone) from anywhere in the world.

The new Panasonic® WJ-HD316A/7500 16 Channel Digital recorder provides users with the core for their integrated IP surveillance network. The WJ-HD316A/7500 allows users to install systems with up to 64 cameras by cascading up to four recorders. The unit features a standard 250 GB base hard drive which is expandable up to 7.5 Terabytes.

Managers can access the security system and individually monitor and control any individual camera, recorder, or recorded images from remote locations anywhere in the world. Individual cameras can be programmed for the greatest number of images per second without any restrictions due to the number of images programmed in other modes. In addition, system software can detect any alterations in copied or stored data and report accordingly.

Two IP addressable cameras provide a 360-degree pan (Panasonic® WV-NS324) or a vandal proof camera (Panasonic® WV-NW474S). In addition to a 360-degree pan, the WV-NS324 color camera also features zoom lens, pan and tilt mechanisms, all in a compact domed unit. The flexible camera can be connected to either analog or digital networks. Installed on a LAN, managers can access, operate, and adjust the camera remotely via the Internet. The multi-faceted camera can utilize input from a motion detector or external sensor to automatically store images, attach them to email, and also control external devices such as turning on lights or starting surveillance recording.

The unit includes a 10x zoom lens plus a 5x digital zoom lens, which allows users to zoom-in for up to 50x close-ups. It operates in lighting as low as 1.0 lx (0.1fc). The camera includes a Flip-a-Chip feature, which makes it easy to capture subjects passing directly below the camera. The image-hold feature prevents blurring during camera movement and pre-set positions simplify set-up and operations.

Like the WV-NS324, the new WV-NW474S vandal-proof color domed camera can be connected to either analog or digital networks. Likewise, it can also be accessed, monitored, and controlled remotely when installed on a LAN. The ultra-tough, vandal-proof body encloses potent technology including a 2x variable-focal lens and Super Dynamic II Advanced Video Technology.

Super Dynamic II is proprietary processing technology developed by Panasonic® that eliminates backlighting problems common in security camera systems. Equipped with this technology, the WV-NS474S captures clear images regardless of lighting conditions thanks to a lighting range 64 times greater than conventional video cameras. The technology also properly corrects gradation to provide proper black level references such that black areas actually appear black, not a washed out gray. Super Dynamic II technology also delivers superb sensitivity (0.8 lux using an F1.4 lens), which enables the camera to capture vivid details and color even in low-light applications.

Milestone’s XPROTECT Professional grade software integrates the IP addressable cameras and recorder(s) with robust server management tools. The software allows the user to set up all network cameras, video servers, and users in the system. The user-friendly interface allows manager(s) to define the number of camera views desired, hours of operation, archiving preferences, e-mail or SMS alerts, and user rights.

Milestone’s XPROTECT Professional comes with a 4-channel Remote Client or an optional built-in web server for full remote access to alarm information, recorded images, and live video. The software includes full camera control (pan/tilt/zoom), fully adjustable real-time motion detection, and many more performance features.

The result: Managers can access, monitor, and control any individual camera, recorder, or recorded images on their IP network from remote locations anywhere in the world. Access is via cell phone, PDA, or laptop.
