Windows Mobile 5 keeps LetsComIT one step ahead

12 November 2005

LetsComIT are continuing to lead the way in with the most up to date mobile technology developments. The latest version of their flexible, customizable and adaptable PDA solution is now available to all their customers using the new Windows Mobile 5 platform.

By becoming one of the first companies to develop a mobile data system compatible with the latest version of the Pocket PC operating system Windows Mobile 5, LetsComIT can pass on the vast benefits of these latest developments to their customers immediately.

Windows Mobile 5, while still retaining all the familiarity of its predecessors, has evolved to include an upgraded security pack, which is becoming ever more crucial as use of mobile data becomes ever more common. LetsComIT can now offer the most secure mobile data package on the marketplace, ensuring complete peace of mind for your business and your customers.

It will enable, while remaining fully transparent, a more efficient operating environment for the end user. Unlike the previous offerings, Windows Mobile 5 ensures that no data will be lost if the battery fully discharges.

Windows Mobile 5 also supports the latest in communications technology, by operating on the 3G network. This enables faster and more reliable data transfer between mobile devices and central systems.

LetsComIT's experienced and reactive IT team have already taken full advantage of the latest unique toolsets which Windows Mobile 5 provides, making the adapting and customizing of each company's PDA solution even faster than with previous software.

By updating their PDA solution to run with Windows Mobile 5, LetsComIT's mobile data software is able to run on the latest handheld device from O2, the XDA Exec, fully exploiting all the unique features of their most innovative PDA to date.

Operating more like a Tablet PC than a PDA, the XDA Exec offers the functionality of a 'mini-laptop' while retaining all the portability of a PDA. A large QWERTY keyboard enables more rapid and effortless data entry and the new context soft buttons allow shortcuts to the most commonly used applications, and, dependent upon where you are in an application, various screens within a program. It is also specifically designed for 'one-handed operation'.

LetsComIT will also be able to work with similar devices expected from Orange and T-Mobile later on this year.

Jerome Richard, IT Director, LetsComIT, commented, "With the introduction of Windows Mobile 5, LetsComIT will bring the benefits of the next generation of mobile technology to every organization, be it businesses of one or two employees or major blue chip companies. By updating our software to run on this system, our customers will gain, not only a decrease on what is already one of the shortest deployment times, but also faster data transfer and enhanced security. LetsComIT's technoholic IT team has worked hard to ensure that, by developing for Windows Mobile 5, that we remain entirely up-to-the minute."

LetsComIT, part of the CTI Groupe, premier industrial group of Northern France, provide fully customizable PDA solutions for industry. Based in Leeds, LetsComIT work alongside some of the UK's leading businesses to optimize communication between offices and mobile workers.
