Oklahoma Nanotechnology Initiative (ONI) Hosts Nanotechnology Conference
12 November 2005
The Oklahoma Nanotechnology Initiative (ONI) will host the Oklahoma Nanotechnology Conference on November 17th and 18th at the Cox Convention Center. The two-day conference will include local and national speakers, technical presentations and panel discussions on the emerging field of nanotechnology and the latest developments in research and development.
“It’s not a matter of ‘if’ nanotechnology will impact our lives, it’s simply a matter of ‘when’,” said Jim Mason, ONI Executive Director. “We have an outstanding lineup of experts joining us for the second Nanotechnology Conference. We will discuss the hottest areas of growth and research while highlighting nanotech companies – many of which are located right here in Oklahoma.”
In addition to a number of nationally known speakers, the conference will feature a presentation by Richard Booker, author of Nanotechnology for Dummies. Booker is currently conducting research in nanotechnology at Rice University.
The cost to attend the two-day conference is $75. Students: $15. The cost to only attend Richard Booker’s presentation, “Nanotechnology for Non-Scientists” and book signing for “Nanotechnology for Dummies” is $30.
