NBS Technologies Launches the Horizon® Evolution The All-In-One Solution for High-Speed, High-Volume Smart Card Issuance

Building on the highly successful Horizon family of products, the Horizon Evolution is the next step in the evolution of high speed, high volume smart card personalization issuance. Aimed specifically at the GSM, Secure ID and Financial/EMV markets, the Horizon Evolution is the ideal, all-in-one solution. Recognizing the ever-changing, market driven needs of high volume smart card issuers, NBS designed the Horizon Evolution with flexibility and reliability in mind. The machine is configurable to meet the market needs of today and then re-configurable to meet the needs of tomorrow. No longer will card issuers be required to purchase one machine for their GSM needs, another system for their secure ID need and yet another for their Financial/EMV needs – the flexible, re-configurable Horizon Evolution with its customizable Card Production Elements ("CPEs") allows card issuers to quickly and efficiently re-direct their production capabilities based upon market conditions.

Product Features
The Horizon Evolution is built on the solid foundation of the existing Horizon platform which has been in use in the card industry since 1996. The Horizon Evolution system features a full complement of card personalization elements, a redesigned frame, cover and base unit. Key features include: high speed card transport, high speed laser engraving, 24 station smart card programming, 12 station contactless card programming, SmartSys Software Suite (Windows® XP based card design and production software), smart card and laser engraving throughputs of up to 3000 card per hour. The Horizon Evolution platform addressesoffers all card personalization requirements in a single system and is available for order on September 30, 2005.
