Discretix’s CryptoCell to be Incorporated Into Comsys Communication’s Digital Baseband Solutions

Discretix the leading provider of embedded security solutions for mobile devices and flash-based memory, and Comsys Communication and Signal Processing today announced that Discretix’s CryptoCell solution had been selected by Comsys for inclusion into its integrated baseband IP solutions.
The increased subscriber adoption of EDGE and UMTS mobile technologies, combined with mobile operator’s renewed emphasis on device security, has made robust security a mandatory component of the digital baseband processor. This, combined with the expanded data capabilities of mobile devices has created a need for security applications such as secure storage and Digital Rights Management (DRM), remote update capabilities and mechanisms to ensure device integrity. All these applications rely heavily on robust, high performance security solutions.
CryptoCell incorporates a rich software layer including Security Middleware and Device Toolkits. The combination of CryptoCell together with the software components results in a security solution which can be seamlessly integrated at the applications level and is transparent to the end-user.
Comsys will pre-integrate CryptoCell with its EGGware™ and UEwareTM digital baseband IP solution for UMTS/EGPRS/GPRS/GSM terminals. The pre-integrated solution will provide handsets and chip manufacturers with leading-edge security and DRM functionality, and will significantly reduce time-to-market.
