GreenFuel Technologies Corporation Selected to Receive City of Cambridge GoGreen Business Award
13 June 2005
GreenFuel Technologies Corporation, a privately held company providing emissions-to-biofuel conversion services to power plants and industrial facilities, announced today it has been selected as a winner of the City of Cambridge's 2005 GoGreen Energy Award for Small Business. GreenFuel was nominated in the category of "Most Promising New Green Technology."
"As a corporate citizen of Cambridge, GreenFuel is proud to reinforce the city's efforts to cultivate economically and environmentally sound development," said Cary Bullock, President and CEO of GreenFuel. "We are equally proud of our partnerships with other local organizations -- such as the MIT Cogeneration Plant -- that have been instrumental to our success so far. We are truly pleased to be named to such a distinctive award."
In 1999, the City of Cambridge Community Development and Public Works Departments together inaugurated the GoGreen Business Awards to recognize area businesses for outstanding environmental efforts. Each year since then, recipients have been honored prior to the start of a May or June City Council meeting.
As City Manager Robert W. Healy noted, "The GoGreen Awards recognize Cambridge businesses for their efforts to preserve the environment and quality of life in Cambridge. Many of our businesses are active in promoting and implementing environmental programs, and we want to make sure that their efforts are appreciated and applauded."
The GoGreen Award presentation ceremony will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2005 at the Cambridge City Hall Annex, 344 Broadway. The reception starts at 5:30 p.m., with the program running from 6:15 to 7:00 p.m.
