Furman Sound Retains Wall Street Communications for Media Relations

23 May 2005

Furman Sound, Inc., the world leader in the power conditioning market, today announced that it has retained Wall Street Communications to provide press relations and marketing communications services aimed at promoting the company's power conditioning products to users in the entertainment technology sector.

Founded in 1974, Furman Sound made a name for itself in the professional audio industry early on by developing technologies and products that solved audio-signal interference problems caused by AC power irregularities.

"AC power problems have grown worse over the years because of the aging power grids with greater demand on the systems, and that means power problems are affecting many more A/V applications beyond just professional audio," said Dave Keller, executive vice president of sales and marketing at Furman Sound. "Wall Street Communications is in tune with the greater entertainment technology sector that we need to reach, and so it is the perfect agency to get our message out."

All Furman Sound products address the fact that AC power will not only interfere with the quality of audio and video signals, but also can damage and even destroy sensitive A/V equipment in professional and consumer applications. Today's overworked and outdated power grids have made these problems even more critical, as unpredictable and poor-quality AC power is now the norm. The AC noise masks and distorts critical signal information, which in turn cripples performance. Furman's mission is to deliver the latest technology advances and the most advanced products to purify and clean the AC power while also protecting equipment in audio/video applications.

"Furman Sound mastered power conditioning technology when it was a critical issue for a specific market," said Chris Lesieutre, president of Wall Street Communications. "Now that the technology is relevant to a much greater range of applications, including audio and video recording, broadcasting, data processing, telecomm, and home theater, Furman is ready to address these needs with its expertise, a wide range of proven products, and next-generation technology."

Wall Street Communications is currently helping to prepare Furman Sound for InfoComm International, the largest conference and exhibition for AV buyers and sellers worldwide. InfoComm 2005 will be held June 4-10, 2005, at the Las Vegas Convention Center, with Furman Sound exhibiting in booth 1374.
