Symbol Technologies Announces Outcome of Voting at Annual Meeting of Stockholders

Symbol Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: SBL - News), The Enterprise Mobility Company(TM), today announced the results of voting on proposals presented to the stockholders at its Annual Meeting of Stockholders, held today at the Company's headquarters.
Approved by stockholders were the two proposals set forth in the Company's proxy statement, dated March 28, 2005. The proposals approved today by the stockholders were as follows:
-- Election of six directors to the Board of Directors of Symbol
Technologies, Inc.
-- Appointment of Ernst & Young LLP as the Company's independent
registered public accounting firm for the fiscal year ending December
31, 2005.
No other business was brought before the meeting.
Elected to the Board of Directors were Robert J. Chrenc; who serves as non-executive chairman; Salvatore Iannuzzi; Symbol senior vice president and chief administrative and control officer; Edward Kozel; Bill Nuti, Symbol president and chief executive officer; George Samenuk; and Melvin A. Yellin.
