Rimage Unveils Duplicator for Small Businesses

6 May 2005

Rimage, a manufacturer of high-capacity commercial CD/ DVD publishing equipment, recently announced the launch of its new desktop model, the Rimage 360i, designed exclusively to meet the needs of the small business.

The Rimage 360i Desktop Duplicator

Now with the launch, it is official. Customers can take delivery of a compact, professional quality CD and DVD recording and printing solution that is simple and affordable — a system designed with their exact needs in mind.

“The Rimage 360i is a testament to our engineering and manufacturing expertise. We have been able to integrate disc printing and recording technology into a compact and affordable desktop product,” observes Manny Almeida, executive vice president for Rimage.

“These key features were developed by listening to the needs of customers and then applying our industry-leading core competencies in engineering and software development. The result is a totally new, technologically advanced CD/ DVD publishing system that will, we believe, make the Rimage 360i the ideal solution for many lower-volume market applications.”

A more professional look and feel to CD and DVD recording and printing solutions will drive a lot of purchasing decisions for customers. The Rimage 360i merges Hewlett Packard's inventive color layering with optimization technology, which offers 4800 dpi printing and a full-color spectrum of 16.7 million colors while also providing the smallest ink droplet size of 3 pico-liters that ensures maximum clarity and great economy in direct-to-disc printing.

On top of the cutting-edge printing technology, the Rimage 360i offers the industry’s best Plextor CD/ DVD combination drive to create the new benchmark for desktop recording and printing hardware. Ultimately, Rimage thinks offering a desktop solution that has earned the right to wear the company badge will spur a wealth of customers to invest in a desktop model.

Rimage made simplicity a high priority for the new base of customers. Getting started with a Rimage 360i is as easy as plug and go. In as few as 25 minutes, customers will be recording and printing discs like a small manufacturing facility. Customers need only fill the 25-disc-capacity bin and move on to the next important task of running their small business.

Professional photographers and videographers, colleges and universities, computer graphics companies and religious organizations are just a few of the small businesses that will be able to show an immediate return on investment after purchasing the newest Rimage product offering.

Technology is a strength of Rimage. The Rimage 360i is optimized for both CD and DVD recording. The new no-compromise CD/ DVD recorder technology delivers best-in-class 16X DVD recording as well as top-speed 48X CD recording.

Users no longer have to choose between recorder types or suffer from compromised performance. The Rimage 360i delivers maximized disc creation for both DVDs and CDs. HP leads the industry in printer technology, and Rimage has tapped their expertise in this new machine.

“When you arrive to the marketplace second, you had better arrive with a better product. We knew the competitive bar and we set out to raise it. And we have hit the mark,” says Konrad Rotermund, managing director for Rimage Europe.

“From the footprint of the machine to the intuitive QuickDisc software that allows users to create, burn and print with the click of a mouse, we see the Rimage 360i as the benchmark for the category.”

In addition to the superiority in side-by-side performance evaluations against other products on the market, Rimage engineers labored extensively on establishing an industry-leading lowest cost of ownership. Early results indicate that each disc published using a Rimage 360i can be produced at more than a 30 percent to 90 percent cost savings over other desktop products.

Similarly, Rimage set out to manufacture a high-quality desktop product that produced the lowest overall cost of ownership that Rimage’s large commercial clients have repeatedly cited as one of the most important reasons to choose Rimage over other competitive disc publishing systems. The Rimage 360i systems are designed with quality and efficiency as focal points.
